Job Opening - Fleet Crew Leader

The City of Crestwood is seeking candidates for the position of Fleet Crew Leader. This position maintains accurate computerized vehicle maintenance records, writes purchase orders, processes invoices, schedules vehicles for preventative maintenance and repairs as well as ensure necessary state M.V.I.’s and licenses are up to date. Responsible for maintaining accurate D.O.T. records. Supervisory/skilled labor position responsible for the maintenance, diagnosis and repair of light/heavy vehicles and light/heavy equipment. This includes cars, trucks, police vehicles, fire equipment/apparatus, gasoline and diesel engines, and other City equipment. Inspect, adjust and or replace, necessary components and parts related to cooling, fuel, exhaust, brakes, and ignition systems. Performs engine tune ups utilizing standard and computerized testing equipment. Makes emergency road calls to make minor field adjustments or repairs.

Starting Salary Range: $49,000-$51,450 plus benefits including health insurance (78%-100% paid by the City depending on coverage level), dental insurance (30%- 100% City paid depending on coverage level), vision and life Insurance (City paid with benefit 1 1⁄2 times salary plus $20,000), retirement benefits with Missouri LAGERS 100% City Contribution, uniforms, boot allowance, and vacation (12 days first year) and sick leave.

Education, qualifications and experience required:  A.S.E. certification in at least 4 classifications. E.V.T. certification preferred or ability to obtain in twenty-four months. High school education or equivalent, technical school preferred. Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with air brake endorsement in the state in which you reside. Minimum of three years’ experience in fleet maintenance with supervisory responsibilities.
