Beautification Committee Meeting - March 5, 2019

Did you know that Crestwood has a Beautification Committee?   They are an active group of dedicated volunteers that plan, implement, and maintain plantings and gardens in various public areas around Crestwood.  Check out their website at www.beautifycrestwood.org.

Some of their projects for 2019 were discussed at their meeting tonight:

Firehouse Garden - They are planning to create new planting beds at the firehouse.  A bunch of dirt will be delivered on March 20 (weather permitting), which will need to be wheelbarrow'ed and spread. Later in May they will be planting in these new beds and others around City Hall. If you would like to help (because they need volunteers) - send an e-mail to beautifycrestwood@gmail.com or visit their online form.

100 Trees Project - Several grants are being pursued that would pay for new trees to be planted around Crestwood. They are hoping to plant some this spring and more this fall.

Butterfly Gardening Program - Tom Krauska (aka Tom Terrific) will present his 10 Commandments of Butterfly Gardening program on Monday March 18 at 7:00pm at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church (8646 New Sappington Rd). It's free, but reservations are required - just e-mail beautifycrestwood@gmail.com with the number of people who would like to attend.
