Statement from Representative Christ:
The Town Hall meeting previously scheduled for Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at Crestwood City Hall has been cancelled.
Statement from Representative Christ:
“I am proud to serve the people of St. Louis County—a community with diverse voices, strong families, and thriving businesses. Honest debate on tough issues is how we make Missouri a better place to live, work, and raise our kids.
But let me be clear: political violence and threats are not “passion.” They are cowardly, and they have no place in our democracy. Disagreement should never escalate into intimidation of public figures, their families, staff, or neighbors. Free speech is protected in this country—but violence and threats are an attack on it.
Because of the disturbing rise in hostility at political events across the United States, I am cancelling my upcoming Town Hall meetings in Crestwood, Fenton, and Sunset Hills. This is not a decision I take lightly, but these events have now become a strain not only on law enforcement and security, but also on the community centers, schools, and churches that generously host us. They should not have to bear that burden.
My office in Jefferson City remains open, and I welcome every constituent’s call, email, or visit. I will continue working every day to ensure St. Louis County has a strong voice in Jefferson City, and I remain committed to civil conversations that lead to better policy for Missouri.”
